With support for MySQL and PostgreSQL databases, SemanticScuttle works very similarly to how Delicious once did, allowing users to register and share links with each other.
Links can be added one by one using the New Bookmark form, using the SemanticScuttle browser bookmarklets, or in bulk by importing them from browser bookmark files or Delicious accounts.
Users can also upload private collections of links, managing them via SemanticScuttle's tagging system, bringing some order in large URL lists.
Working as a link indexing app and Web-based bookmarks manager, SemanticScuttle can be used to build communities online, allowing users to always discover new and interesting links in another person's account.
Users can follow each other using watchlists, and they can also vote URLs they like.
And in any case users are starting to spam or post NSFW links, the webmaster can moderate the posted content with the help of a simple administration panel.
